I know Essex won the Division I championship, but eight players from one team speaks to Vermont's lack of depth. If the QB had played it would have been nine.

NHWatcher, since you probably see more high school football than the rest of us, here's a question for you: How would one of NH's top teams (Salem, BG, etc.) fare against a typical Vermont Shrine team?

FWIW, I'd give a Vermont all-star team a significant edge over any New Hampshire team.

Shifting gears, what's up with the lack of coverage for the Shrine Game? I know it's February, but I can't remember a time when the local papers didn't at least run something on the local players who were named to the team. I didn't read anything today except two paragraphs in the Concord Monitor.

I guess it's part of the general trend of papers doing less and less with local sports. Where would we be without blogs.
