Strong second half propels New Hampton

New Hampton logo.jpgThe New Hampton football team scored 33 points in the second half to defeat Hyde 41-19 Saturday at Kennedy Field.

New Hampton, which trailed 13-0 in the first quarter, received 236 yards rushing and two touchdowns from senior taibacl Todd Collier.

Collier also led the defense with a team-high 10 tackles and a crucial fourth-quarter sack to keep the Huskies in control of the game. The New Hampton defense held the Phoenix scoreless in the second half.

The victory improved  New Hampton's record to 5-1. The Huskies will play at  undefeated Proctor Academy on Saturday in a game that could determine which team wins the Evergreen League title.
