Pinkerton Academy running back Emmitt Smith will not participate in next month's Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl.

 According to New Hampshire coach Mike Beliveau, Smith was removed from the New Hampshire roster because of a lingering injury suffered in last month's CHaD East-West All-Star Game. Plymouth linebacker Cole Brooker was selected to replace Smith.

New Hampshire and Vermont will begin practicing Thursday at Kimball Union Academy. This year's game will be played Aug 4 at Dartmouth College.
