New Hampshire Football Report will provide daily practice reports leading up to the inaugural New Hampshire East-West All-Star Game, which will benefit Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD). The game will be played June 23 at the University of New Hampshire's Cowell Stadium (1 p.m.).
WEST NOTES
West coach Keith Jones reported no injuries following his team's second practice at Manchester Memorial. "It was a good, solid practice," Jones said. "I'm very pleased with the athletes and how fast they're picking things up. They're all great athletes, but the football knowledge is really good." ... The West team is scheduled to practice Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The West will have Saturday off, and will practice twice Sunday (9-11:30 and 1:30-4). ... Jones said he's hoping to have a better idea about what players will be used on which side of the ball this weekend. "We're just seeing how the pieces fit into the puzzle," he said. "We're still feeling it out. I'd like to have it all ironed out by Sunday." ... Cody Dalton (Manchester Memorial) and Aaron Martin (Manchester West) are the West quarterbacks. "Both are going to play," Jones said. ... Jones said the team will likely scrimmage Sunday. "We'll probably go live for 10 plays at the end of the morning practice and do the same thing in the afternoon," he said. ... Jones said he likes his depth at the halfback/slotback position. "We have about 15 kids who are interchangable there," he said.
EAST NOTES
The East team will not practice Friday, but will practice twice both Saturday and Sunday. East coach Bill Raycraft (Windham) said his team will be on the field at Exeter High School from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. ... "Right now we're at the point of looking at who's going to play O and who's going to play D so we can get more reps,," Raycraft said. "Coming into this we had a good idea of who was going to play where. It's also based on what they told us they preferred back in March. Hopefully by Saturday afternoon we're going to make those choices." ,.. Raycraft said the passing game and pass defense will be the focus of Saturday's practice, and that the offensive and defensive lines are the deepest positions on the roster. ... Raycraft said he's been very impressed with Salem noseguard Dan Stacey and Spaulding lineman Dilllon Couture. "Couture from Spaulding has been aggressive -- very aggressive -- and you can tell he likes it," he said. "Right now I think we like him on defense, but I want him on offense. He's one of those we'll have to make a tough choice on. Dan Stacey at nose -- he's gonna give somebody fits."
