Laconia's Mahoney added to Shrine roster

Shrine logo.jpgBilly Mahoney, a 6-foot-1, 240-pound defensive tackle from Laconia High School, has been added to the New Hampshire roster for this summer's Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl.

Mahoney has replaced Bishop Guertin split end Nathan Chartrad. New Hampshire coach Mike Beliveau said Chartrand could not participate because of another commitment.

This year's Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl is tentatively scheduled to be played Aug. 4 at Dartmouth College. Shrine officials are waiting to hear if the NCAA will allow the game to be held at a Division I institution.
