Winnacunnet avoids upset

HAMPTON -- Steve Cronan completed a 33-yard touchdown pass to Matt Sullivan with 9:10 left in the fourth quarter to give the Winnacunnet High School football team an 18-13 victory over Dover on Friday night.
Dover trailed 12-0 after the first quarter, but took a 13-12 lead when running back Corey MacKoul scored on an 11-yard run with 2:51 left in the third quarter.
Winnacunnet improved its record to 3-0 overall, and 2-0 in Division II. Dover droped to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in Division II.
Cronan completed 8 of 9 passes for 193 yards. The Warriors also received 140 yards rushing from running back Mike Trainor. Dover quarterback Tyler Zabkar completed 17 of 32 passes for 218 yards.
