DURHAM. - The University of New Hampshire football team is ranked eighth in both of this week's major Football Championship Subdivision polls, The Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25 and the FCS Coaches Poll.

The Wildcats (1-1) visit the University of Rhode Island Rams at Meade Stadium in Kingston, R.I., Saturday (noon). in the Colonial Athletic Association conference opener for both schools. The game will be televised on CSN-NE and carried on the Wildcat Sports Radio Network.

Villanova is the new No. 1 team in The Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25 while Appalachian State claimed the top spot in the FCS Coaches Poll.  Montana, last week's consensus No. 1 team, slipped to No. 6 in both polls.
