First night game played in Keene

The Monadnock Marauders semi-pro football team picked up a 26-20 overtime victory against the Leominister (Mass.) Razorbacks on Saturday in the first night game under the new
lights at Keene High School's Alumni Field.The game was witnessed by about 500 fans.

The Marauders scored the game-winning touchdown on a 3-yard quarterback keeper
by Teddy Knudson (Brattleboro,Vt.).Elmer Newsome had three key
carries during the drive, which covered 66 yards in eight plays.

Former Keene High star Phil Dallas scored three touchdowns during regulation.Dallas caught two pases fronm Knudson, one for 4 yards and the other for 36 yards. Former Monadnock star Terren Haskins was outstanding on special teams.Haskins blocked the extra-point try that sent the game into overtime and had several deep runbacks of kicks and made several key tackles.

The Marauders were playing their first game since the death of team founder Scott Cote,who pased away on July 29.

The Marauders are 2-3 in the Pioneer Division of the North Atlantic Conference of AA level of the North Atlantic Conference of the New England Football League. The
Razorbacks are now 1-4.

The first high school football game scheduled to be played under the new lights at Alumni Field is a non-league contest between Keene and con-Val on Sept. 3.
