Shrine logo.jpgNew Hampshire prepared for next weekend's Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl with an offensive scrimmage at Kimball Union Academy on Saturday.

Exeter High School running back was among the standouts in the scrimmage, which lasted close to 100 plays. Kelleher will play college football at Norwich University in Northfield, Vt.

"I was really pleased with Zach Kelleher," New Hampshire coach Ken Sciacca said. "He's an outstanding running back. I really wasn't suprised. I called him our sleeper before camp.

"(Timberlane's) Derek Furey ran well (Souhegan's) Steven Jellison ran well and the two kids from Plymouth (Colin Hay and Kyle McAuliffe) ran well. The Wing-T is a little shaky at the moment, but it's getting better. The kids showed us they were fit."

Sciacca said he expects both quarterbacks -- Nashua North's Dylan Brodeur and Souhegan's D.J. Petropulos -- to see significant playing time in Saturday's game, which will be played at Windsor (Vt.) High School.

This year's game will feature 12-minute quarters. The game has used 15-minute quarters in past years. Sciacca said he doesn't like the change.

"It's very disappointing," he said. "We've got 36 kids and it's very challenging getting them all playing time. We have five timeouts (per half). I'd rather have 15-minute quarters than five timeouts."
