Bates helmet.gifExeter resident Andrew Kukesh will continue his football career at Division III Bates College.

Kukesh, a 2009 Exeter High School graduate, spent last season at Loomis-Chaffee, a prep school in Windsor, Conn., but suffered a preseason knee injury that prevented him from playing football.

Kukesh played quarterback and defensive back for Exeter in 2007 and 2008, and represented New Hampshire in last year's Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl.

Kukesh helped Exeter beat Bishop Guertin in the 2007 Division II championship game. He completed 37 of 63 passes for 615 yards and 10 touchdowns (one interception) that season. He was also Exeter's third-leading rusher with 378 yards on 56 carries.

He was a First Team All-State selection at defensive back following his junior and senior seasons.
