UNH, which playes in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, has won five straight games against FBS opponents, beginning with a victory over Rutgers in 2004. UNH has also handed losses to Northwestern, Marshall, Army and Ball State.

UNH qualified for the FCS playoffs for the sixth straight season in 2009, advancing to the quarterfinal round for the fifth time during that six-year span. UNH, which completed the 2009 campaign with a 10-3 overall record, finished last season ranked No. 7 in the nation in the FCS.

Toledo finished 5-7 in 2009, including a 37-30 victory over Ball State, a team the Wildcats defeated this past season, 23-16 in Muncie, Ind. The Rockets play in The Glass Bowl, which was renovated in 1990. Toledo's all-time attendance record was 36,852 vs. Navy in 2001.

Toledo and UNH have squared off in football three times before, at the Glass Bowl in 1947, and in Durham in 1948 and 1949. Toledo leads the series 3-0. The 1947 contest was the second of four "Glass Bowl" games, a postseason matchup played at Toledo from 1946-49. Toledo won that game, 20-14. The Wildcats were undefeated with an 8-0 record prior to the game and earned the Yankee Conference title that season.
