UNH recruit leaning toward Portland State

A.J. Powell, a 5-foot-8, 185-pound defensive back from Charter Oak High School in Covina, Calif., is close to committing to Portland State, according to a story in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Powell (pictured) was named the Miramonte League's Player of the Year following the 2009 season.
He also had scholarship offers from New Hampshire, New Mexico, UTEP and Colorado State, according to Rivals.com.
National Signing Day is Feb. 3.
