Villanova advanced with a 38-28 first-round win over Holy Cross. ... Both teams reached the quarterfinals a year ago, with UNH falling at Northern Iowa and Villanova losing at James Madison. ... Villanova has advanced to the NCAA semifinals on one occasion, losing against McNeese State in 2002. UNH has never reached the semifinals. ... With his five catches against McNeese State, Sicko moved into eighth place on UNH's career receptions list. Sicko needs three receptions to move past Calvin Jones (1993-96) and nine to eclipse Stephan Lewis (1999-2002). ... Toman now sits in fourth place on UNH's all-time passing list with 5,555 yards. ... A win would give UNH 11 victories for just the second time in the program's history (2005). ... In Villanova's first-round win over Holy Cross, junior wide receiver Matt Szczur had 239 all-purpose yards, while quarterback Chris Whitney was 16 for 23 for 239 yards and a touchdown. ... Szczur was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Year and Special Teams Player of the Year. He is just the second CAA player to earn two major awards in the same season. ... Tom Manning had three field goals in UNH's regular-season win over Villanova, while Toman threw a 32-yard TD pass to Sicko and had a 1-yard touchdown run.
