University of New Hampshire coach Sean McDonnell said Monday that defensive tackle Jordan Long will be in uniform and available to play when UNH faces Villanova in Saturday's NCAA playoff game.
Long, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound senior, was suspended for violating team policy and academic department policy following UNH's victory at Hofstra on Oct. 24. He has missed the team's last five games.
"Fortunately for us he's gonna have an opportunity to play this week," McDonnell said. "He served his suspension that was needed for the team policy and he'll be back on the field on Saturday."
Long has recorded 21 tackles (14 unassisted) and one sack in six games this season. He played in all 13 of UNH's games last season.
UNH (10-2) will play at Villanova (11-1) in the NCAA quarterfinals. UNH beat Villanova 28-24 during the regular season.
Saturday's opening kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
