Noteworthy: Michael Pierce paced Saint Anselm in its 31-28 loss at Stonehill. Pierce had 390 yards passing with three touchdowns and also ran for 106 yards to finish with 496 total yards, a Saint Anselm single-game record. Pierce was honored as the Greater Boston Gridiron Club Gold Helmet Award winner for his efforts along with being named Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Week, NE-10 Rookie of the Week and ECAC Division II Offensive Player of the Week. ... . Marc Wilson had a receiving and a rushing TD for Saint Anselm and made 16 receptions for 163 yards. Marcel Bouie had 10 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown. ... Senior Dan Bohenek had 15 tackles in the loss, giving him 260 to move into second place on the Saint Anselm all-time list. ... New Haven sophomore quarterback Ryan Osieski leads the Northeast-10 with 283.1 yards passing per game. Osieski has thrown for 16 touchdowns. ... A moment of silence will be held prior to the game in honor of Marine Captain Kyle Van De Giesen. The Saint Anselm quarterback in 1999, Van De Giesen was killed in Afghanistan earlier this week while serving his country. A red, white and blue ribbon and Van De Giesen's number, 12, will be painted onto the Grappone Stadium field along with the words Semper Fi and players will be wearing Van De Giesen's initials, KV, on their helmets.
