Noteworthy: UNH won its fifth straight season opener with last weekend's 24-14 win over St. Francis. The Wildcats held St. Francis to 198 total yards in the win. ... UNH will be seeking its fifth straight win against a FBS opponent. Colonial Athletic League teams have already fared well against FBS competition this season, posting a 3-1 mark. ... UNH is ranked No. 9 in both FCS national polls. ... Amherst's Sean Jellison did the damage in UNH's win over St. Francis with 125 yards rushing, including a 70-yard TD run. Jellison added a 30-yard touchdown reception. ... UNH could be without senior running back Chad Kackert for the second straight game. Kackert missed the season opener and UNH coach Sean McDonnell said he is still bothered by a hamstring injury. ... UNH has a bye next weekend before facing Dartmouth in Durham on Sept. 26. ... Ball State dropped its opener last week, falling to North Texas at home, 20-10. ... The Cardinals went 12-2 a year ago and lost to Tulsa in the GMAC Bowl. ... Senior running back MiQuale Lewis rushed for at least 100 yards in 11 games last season and was fifth in the nation in rushing yards per game (124.0) and seventh in scoring (9.43 points per game). Lewis had 103 yards and a touchdown against North Texas last week. ... Ball State coach Stan Parrish was a coach on Michigan's 1997 national championship team and earned a Super Bowl ring as quarterbacks coach with Tampa Bay in 2002. ... This is the first meeting between the teams.
