Santos scores in victory

Former University of New Hampshire quarterback Ricky Santos scored on a 6-yard run to help the Montreal Alouettes defeat the Toronto Argonauts, 37-24, Wednesday night in the first exhibition game for each CFL team

Santos entered the game late in the third quarter and directed the Alouettes on an eight-play, 63-yard scoring drive that ended with his 6-yard TD run. Santos completed a pass to Brandon Whitaker for the two-point conversion.

Santos was one of three Montreal quarterbacks who played in the game, joining Adrian McPherson and Chris Leak. Anthony Calvillo, who is expected to be Montreal's starting quarterback for the 2009 season, did not make the trip to Toronto.

Santos completed 5 of his 7 pass attempts for 33 yards. He also gained 9 yards on two carries and fumbled once.
