Good turnout expected for 7-on-7 event
As many as 16 teams may participate in the 2009 Granite State 7-on-7 tournament, which will be held Saturday at the University of New Hampshire.
The event will feature a minimum of 13 teams: Alvirne, Dover, Scarborough, Maine, Raymond, John Stark, Somersworth, Bellingham, Mass., Souhegan, Con-Val, Bow, Spaulding, Nashua North and Marshwood (South Berwick, Maine). Manchester Memorial, Exeter and Merrimack may participate, but have yet to confirm.
The field will be divided into four pools, and the top two teams in each pool will advance to the championship bracket. There will also be a consolation bracket. Each team is guaranteed at least three games.
The event is open to any varsity team in New England, and the entry fee is $200 per team.
