Wolves holding tryout Saturday

Manchester Wolves.gifThe Manchester Wolves, a franchise that competes in the arenafootball2 league, will hold an open tryout Saturday.

Manchester head coach Danton Barto and his staff will evaluate players at the team's official practice facility, the Hampshire Dome, in Milford. The pre-registration fee is $50 per player or $60 on the day of the tryout.

All players are required to be at least 18, and must bring proof of identification, along with a t-shirt, shorts, and athletic shoes (cleats are suggested). Registration is at 8 a.m. and the tryouts will begin at 9 a.m. Players will be evaluated in the 40-yard dash, short shuttle, broad jump, and position-specific drills. Kickers will be evaluated in a session that will begin at 11 a.m.

There will also be a second open tryout at the Hampshire Dome on Feb. 21.

The Wolves open training camp on March 7, and the team's first game will be March 27 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
