Brown leaving UMass for Maryland
Don Brown, who spent three seasons (1993-1995) as the head coach at Plymouth State, has resigned from his position as the head football coach at the University of Massachusetts to become the defensive coordinator at the University of Maryland.
Plymouth State had a 25-6 record in Brown's three-year tenure as the program's head coach. He also served an an assistant coach at Dartmouth during the 1982 season, and was Dartmouth's defensive coordinator from 1993 to 1995.
UMass competes in the Colonial Athletic Association's North Division, a league that also includes the University of New Hampshire.
