NHIAA football: the numbers game
The following is the NHIAA's six-division alignment, which will be used for the first time this season. Schools were placed in a division based on enrollment, and each school's enrollment at the time of classification is listed in parenthesis.
Note: A * indicates that a school petitioned up to a division that has schools with larger enrollments and will play in a division other than where it was originally placed. Schools are not permitted to petition down.
Division I (1,800+)
Nine schools
